Book Burning Audio
Inspired by the work of Paul De Marini, I have proposed to complete an installation which tells the story of the 1933 Book Burning Rally in Germany under the rule of Adolf Hitler. This is a photoshopped version of what I had in mind. The installation will incorporate the audio above, the smell of burning paper and an intense heat from around the room to give the viewer an intense interaction with an event of the past.
The piece is to commemorate the millions of people, thoughts and words lost to the Nazi Era. It is an incorporation of new media, the power of the wrath of nature and history all summed up into one.

How Do You Wear Your Queer?

So, do the stereotypes clearly label and define what it means to be queer?
I believe that there are multiple shades and hues of brilliant colours between simple butch and femme labels and dynamics.
These colours make our community vibrant. They give depth and life and individuality to the term “queer”.

The installation also comments on a personal level of what I feel comfortable in and to parts of the body that I chose not to expose due to levels of discomfort.
This piece was constructed for Body & Object and gives the viewer a glimpse into a world of assumption and how “assuming” is no longer good enough.
It was constructed by creating a mold of a classmates collarbone and casting it in wax in Claire Brunet’s mould making Class.
Not in love with mould making though, as I’m sure most of my classmates have come to realize.
There may be a switch in majors coming up for my next semester.

How can I mess with an everyday space at OCAD? What can I do to make people stop and think?
And it hit me…
This is my design for my Creative Process and Research class, taught by Lyn Carter at OCAD.
It required us to take a space at the University and somehow create an installation piece by changing the space and its function. Using plaster and chizzling away at my mold for 3 days, my “stop and thinker” came to life.

The first steps required us to take a photo of the space, and draw directly on it using paint and marker.
From there, the design of molding carbdboard to hold paster was created…and so on.

How do we use water? How clean is the water we drink from our fountains? I love tap water, I’d rather drink tap water then any bottled water out there…but how safe am I? How safe are you?
The toilet design does make people smile as they walk by. I have observed the reactions of faculty and students as they gaze over and laugh, smirk, stop..and sometimes worry.
Cheers to your next glass of the good stuff.

Barely able to stand on his own two feet, getting a smile from Jordan took some full time entertainment from his family and friends. These are some shots taken to stray away from the traditional portraits done and capture more of his natural moments.

A tattoo is obviously a permanent decision and sometimes the thought of forever can be scary to think of, no matter how badly you want it. In brainstorming and thinking of places on the body where her new tattoo could go, Chrissy D’Agostino took part in a “Skin Art” session. Skin Art is something I do for certain clients which allows a final product of a tattoo design to be placed on a certain part of the body. This allows tentative tattoo seekers to see what the design would possibly look like on the skin. Just a fresh idea to give you more options on what exactly you are looking for.
